State of the Soil: 2011/2012

Five years ago, fresh tilled soil comprised three guys working in the poorly lit basement of a friend's house. Today we have an amazing team working with the most dynamic startups and well-respected brands in the world. With clients across four continents, we are becoming a true world player.

2011 was an amazing year for both us and our clients, as we worked on over 60 web and mobile design projects. To continue to produce all this great UI & UX work, we have doubled the size of our design team and hired the best design project managers we could find. We were also honored with the MITX award for the best B2B/Professional Services website design.

Since those dingy basement days, we've worked with our clients and partners to launch over 400 websites and applications. We want to share all this empirical knowledge with even more startups, corporations, and nonprofits. This year we'll be launching the first in a series of Founders and CXO UX/UI Seminars. Our goal is to become the best web and mobile user interface design company in the world. Yes, you read correctly⎯the world! It's a huge and humbling task, but we're committed that goal.

To this end, we're investing every available cent into our people and our operations. We're training our talented UI designers and UX experts in the latest technology and techniques. In March this year, we will break ground on a new 8,000 sq/ft studio here at the Watch Factory, so we'll have more creative spaces to meet with clients and brainstorm in our teams. To better serve our clients in the city, we're also opening a new office in the Liberty Wharf building in Boston's 'Innovation District.'

We know there's a lot of work ahead of us, but we've never been more excited or energized. We hope you'll continue challenging us with new projects and even bigger goals.
